Open to AllPack 171 is open to all boys between first and fifth grades. The boys attend Mesa Elementary School, Creekside Elementary, Community Montessori and The Bixby School, but we also have scouts from other areas. Boys may join the pack at any time, whether or not they have belonged to a pack before.

We Only Do 3 ThingsAt the start of each scout year, we remind the boys and their families that we are only going to do 3 things... Learn, Do Some Good and Have Fun! Scouting is a game with a purpose, and the purpose is to give the boys a set of experiences that support personal growth, teamwork and fellowship. |
MeetingsDens have meetings two times a month; boys do activities toward requirements for achievement awards in subjects like Safety, Athletics, Local Government, First Aid, and Ecology. Parents usually take turns organizing the den meetings. Pack meetings are one evening a month and we usually have a special event every month or two.. We also ask that each family reserve 1 hour each month for a scouting-related activity. |

We're ActivePack 171 is dedicated to a lively Cub Scout experience. We know that Boulder kids are involved in many different activities, so we try to avoid major schedule conflicts and stay flexible. We do at least 2 family campouts a year and there are other opportunities for den campouts and summer scout camps. We hold traditional Cub Scout events like the Pinewood Derby and the Blue & Gold Banquet. We also do local hikes, community service projects, participate in Boulder's holiday parade, go to baseball games, etc.
