In the way past, Pack meetings were on Mondays and the Pinewood Derby was held in the Fellowship Hall at St. Paul's, with the weigh-in on Sunday nights.  The problem was that the race would run late into the evening, and often the younger siblings who would race in the open class (usually run last, or near the end) would not be able to stay to watch their race.  So, more recently the Pinewood Derbies have been held on Sunday afternoons with the weigh-in on Saturday afternoon.  Unfortunately this means renting a school (either Mesa or Community Montessori) at a higher expense due to the district having to hire a monitor.

  • Get check from Pack Treasurer and turn in to District Office by due date
  • Award Prizes at Pack meeting

Friends Of Scouting Team

“Friends of Scouting” is an important opportunity for pack families to contribute financially to the success of the District and Council.  The funds collected do not go to our Pack, rather they support facilities such as Camp Patiya, adult leader training and activities sponsored by the District and Council.  If the Pack meets fundraising goals, we receive discounts on camp attendance and free advancement patches.

  • Attend the kickoff meeting in November - often at Cub Scout Roundtable
  • Present the plan to the parents at a popular Pack event (usually Pinewood Derby or Blue and Gold)

Volunteers from the district are also available to come to the meeting to give the F.O.S. presentation.
